Operating from either a manual quarter-turn handle or a pneumatic actuator at a distance, the Alfa Laval LKB Ultra Pure butterfly valve Usually closed (NC), usually open (NO) and air/air activated (A/A) the actuator exists in three standard forms.

A handle on manual operation mechanically locks the valve either open or closed. Available are two-position, four-position, regulating 90°-position and multi-position handles. Additionally installed with indication units for feedback on the valve position (open or closed) are manual valves.

An actuator in pneumatic operation turns axial piston motion into a 90° rotation of the shaft. As the valve disc contacts the seal ring of the butterfly valve and assures appropriate shutting of the valve seat, the actuator torque increases.
