The Alfa Laval Multi-line, the MultiMidget Rotary Spray Head is engineered for use in most industries. The Alfa Laval’s MultiMidget or Toftejorg Rotary Spray Heads are highly efficient tank-cleaning offers exceptional cleanability, better end-product quality, greater overall output and reduced operating costs.
Alfa Laval MultiMidget Rotary Spray Head
The Alfa Laval MultiMidget or Toftejorg is a rotary spray head tank cleaning machine for hygienic environments. It was designed to clean tanks from 1-10 m³.
The Alfa Laval MultiMidget minimizes the consumption of water and cleaning media. Easy to customize to meet customer requirements, the MultiMidget allows companies to spend less time cleaning and more time producing.
Applications
The Alfa Laval MultiMidget is designed for the removal of residues from hygienic tanks across the dairy, brewery, distillery, beverage, food, IBC (intermediate bulk container), personal care and many other industries.
Standard Design
Different choice of spray pattern suitable for various applications and tank designs, ranging from simple tanks to more complex tanks with structure such as agitator and baffles. The Alfa Laval MultiMidget is lubricated by the cleaning media.
Working Principle
The flow of the cleaning media causes the head of the Alfa Laval MultiMidget to rotate, and the fan-shaped jets layout a swirling pattern throughout the tank or reactor. This generates the wetting/impact needed for the efficient removal of the residual product, the cascading flow covers all internal surfaces of the vessel.
Cost-Effective Cleaning
Toftejorg or MultiMidget rotary spray heads provide a high cleaning efficiency at a significantly reduced cycle times to meet the tank-cleaning requirements or various process industries – from the pulp and paper and chemical processing industries to the bioethanol and starch industries. Toftejorg or MultiMidget rotary spray heads also provide measurable savings by cutting energy, chemicals and water consumption for virtually any tank size and configuration.
For achieving the best cleaning results, the MultiMidget or Toftejorg rotary spray heads uses an optimized spray head pattern removes any residue after the production cycle more quickly and effectively than the much more expensive and time-consuming cleaning methods of soaking in chemicals or manual cleaning. Self-draining and self-cleaning, inside and out, all the MultiMidget or Toftejorg rotary spray head devices comply with Good Manufacturing Practice.
Performance reliability and long service
Designed for minimal internal pressure less than 0.1 bar; however, the recommended operating pressure is between 2 and 3 bar. For over 50 years, rotary spray head technology has proven to be successful in providing reliable and repeatable cleaning performance and long service life.
Product Benefits
How It Works
Toftejorg or MultiMidget Rotary Spray Heads use the cleaning fluid itself to provide coverage and impact. The physical flow of the cleaning media causes the rotary spray head to rotate, with fan jets laying out a swirling pattern across the inner surface of the vessel.
These jets provides a combination of physical impact and a variable falling firm of cleaning fluid that covers all the internal surfaces of the tank or reactor. The variable falling film has a higher heat and mass transfer coefficients than the falling film produced by the static spray ball.
The spray head also cleans itself by directing the cleaning media through the rotating bearing tract and onto the neck of the elongated head.
Rotary spray heads are a cost-effective alternative to traditional static spray balls because they use only small volumes of cleaning fluid at low pressure.
These devices are suitable for virtually all kinds of industrial cleaning, including tanks, reactors, vessels and other containers.
